21,000 square ft. open admission shelter, housing 17,000 animals a
year.
Predominant

Dogs & cats (in that order) moderate # rabbits.
Minimum length

2 weeks for 4th year students
Eligibility: Right now we focus on 4th year, but other years are eligible to apply.
Ability to do surgery will be based upon prior experience.

Comments: I am trying to formalize & develop this externship. Extern does a lot of
treatments, is involved in evaluating cases as they come thru the building. I
try to expose them to as much as possible… we are developing an extern
handbook…
